Q1. What would happen if there were no photosynthesis? (from previous post)
"If there were no photosynthesis, the provision of oxygen by the trees would be lost and it would in lead in increasing the degree of global warming as poisonous accumulate in the atmosphere.
And the FOOD CYCLE will be disturbed as chain starts with plants as they produce glucose from photosynthesis"
~suggested from Sze Rui
Q3. A plant needs food to function. It can't really makes it own food at night. Beyond a few hours of darkness, how can the plant stay alive without light? (from previous post)
At night, though photosynthesis stops, the formation of excessive glucose in the day which is stored as starch, is reconverted by enzymes in the leaves into glucose which then can be used by the plant for that few hours of darkness. ~ from Stella
Q: How will photosynthesis affect us? (from previous post)
Not only that there is no oxygen, no food for the herbivores and the omnivores, means no food for the carnivores and the omnivores, then all will die. ~ from Ibrahim
Q: Why oxygen has double bonding? (facts to share)
An oxygen molecule has double bond because in its outer shell, it has two valance electrons that are not paired up with another electron. Therefore, it is attracted to other atoms such as hydrogen...go to this website to learn more about valance electrons: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valance_electrons ~from Stella
